ABOUT NEHEMIAH CENTER

With your help, we create a safe haven in which inner-city children are motivated, inspired and equipped to realize their God-given potential. Nehemiah Center provides a high-quality education for students while helping their families get the information and resources necessary to have stability in the home. Today. the Center works with over 500 vulnerable children and their working families annually.

TEXAS RISING STAR ACCREDITATION

The Nehemiah Center is pleased to announce that our Pre-k 3 and Pre-k 4 programs have received a 4 out of 4 star accreditation from Texas Rising Star.

 NEHEMIAH ALL-STAR

Kiana Haynes, Class of 2023 

One of Nehemiah's talented afterschool high schoolers, Kiana Haynes, was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship and named a Citgo Distinguished Scholar in the Service and Leadership category. She was one of only forty  recipients from the Houston area 2023 graduates. She is a senior at Carnegie Vanguard High School, where she is a member of National Honor Society, Creativity for Change, Yearbook, Big Brother/Big Sister and several more organizations.

Kiana began her Nehemiah journey in the 3rd grade at MacGregor Elementary and is still part of our afterschool program. She will be eligible to receive further funding with the Fred C. Alcorn Scholarship through the Nehemiah Center. Kiana has a passion for leadership and service and has been recognized countless times for her initiative, academics and willingness to help her peers and community.
